Bout of Books 12: Day 7

Bout of Books

For more information on the read-a-thon visit Bout of Books

The end is almost near!!! I'm taking a slight break from household duties before plunging myself into some intense reading. I did not have the chance to create a post for day 6 but here's 7.

Here's the book I finished this morning:

I am so proud of myself for finally finishing this book! I started this a few months ago and stopped after a couple of chapters. Finishing this book makes me feel well accomplished. Here's my review on The Last Garden.

Now let's move on to the challenges for the day

My (dysfunctional) Book Family --

Out of all the books you've ever read and all the characters you've ever known who would you choose to be in your family?
  • Select your characters and give each of them a title (mom, dad, sister, uncle, cousin). Get goofy or be super serious. Up to you!
  • Tell me a little bit about WHY you'd choose these characters for their spot in your fam!
  • Now have a bit of fun and tell me (in a short sentence or a long paragraph) HOW is your family dysfunctional. ;)
  Vonnie's Dysfunctional Family
Mom- Molly Weasely from the Harry Potter Series because she's a loving mother who would kick anyone's butt to protect her children.

Dad- Jean Val Jean from Les Miserables because he would sacrifice his freedom and happiness to protect his child.
Sister- Matilda from Matilda because she loves books and has magical powers.

Brothers- Fred and George Weasely because they are hilarious but know how to be responsible when matters become serious.
Uncle- Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride because he is loyal, caring, and persistent.

How will these characters make my family dysfunctional? Well, it will be loud because the twins would be constantly playing jokes and tricks, Matilda would be using her magic to combat against the twins while she's reading, Molly would be constantly reprimanding everyone, Jean Val Jean would be too busy being paranoid of being discovered, and Inigo would constantly be telling people that we killed his father so we must prepare to die. There wouldn't be a dull moment, that's for sure!

 #insixwords Challenge --

The point of this challenge is to choose 2-3 books whether you read them this week, they are a few of your favorites or they were just the easiest ones to come up with something for. For these books you choose to use for this challenge, you must summarize/share your thoughts or feelings about the book in just six words!

Eve: In the Beginning by H.B. Moore: Learning to be humans after falling.

Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James: Let's blame Wickham for man's death.
If You Believe by Mya O'Malley: To be happy, we move on.

  3. Molly Weasley! *slaps forehead* You are a genius! I couldn't think of a mom or dad so I picked the one's I found that might be cool to inherit some abilities from.
